Isle of Man based casino group Microgaming has announced that they've signed a deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment and will be releasing a Village People slot as a result.
The game will be launching next year and will work to include the group's series of pop hits like Macho Man and YMCA. For those of you under the age of 50 who may not know them, the Village People were a music group that had flamboyant characters dressd up like an Indian, biker, cowboy, construction worker, cop, and Navy officer.
No details on the game were available, but Microgaming COO Andrew Clucas said, "Village People is an iconic brand that has created an impact on pop culture with songs that have remained popular with mainstream audiences since the 70s and 80s. Microgaming is proud to announce the development of a new game which will feature the band's greatest hits and members for the first time in online slot form, adding a new dimension to our extensive portfolio of branded content."
ITV Studios Spokesperson Steve Green added: "A brand as iconic as Village People is sure to lend a great deal of fun and nostalgia to the themed online slot game, and who better to bring that to life than the company that developed the first true online casino."

These people came to Korea to participate in a Seoul International Pop Festival or something one time when I was a kid. I was so surprised to see them singing YMCA on TV. I kind of thought that YMCA was the best song in the world until We Are The World came out. hahaha 🙂
