PokerStars WCOOP Event Will Have $70 Million Purse

This year's PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker is gearing up to begin on September 2nd, and the company announced that there will be a $70 million prize purse for the events.

PokerStars announced that they'll have two main events, with both a $55 buy-in and a $5,200 buy-in. The events will have a $1 million and $10 million guaranteed prize pool, respectively.

In other online poker news, partypoker announced their Powerfest Online Poker Series, which will also kick off on September 2nd. The group announced 670 events during the three weeks with a guaranteed prize pool of $60 million. The company will have events that feature buy-ins as low as $1.10 all the way up to $25,500. Three events will have a $1 million top prize, while two Super High Roller events will feature a $2 million and $3 million prize.

Well, for sure PokerStars is the world leader and even a monopolist in some areas when it comes to online poker and no doubt every decent player out there looking forward to their up coming huge prize events, I would of be anyway.
