IGT Operating Income Jumps 9% in Second Quarter

Land betting giant International Game Technology has released their second quarter 2018 financial results, revealing that the group's revenues rose during the period.

Key financial indicators for the second quarter ending June 30th, 2018 were:

  • Operating income up 9% to $209 million
  • Revenues down 1% to $1.2 billion, related to the sale of DoubleDown Interactive last year
  • North American lottery revenue up to $309 million
  • Interactive revenue down to $254 million

Moving forward, IGT expects to see results surge due to regulated sportsbetting in the United States. The company was selected by FanDuel to run their sportsbetting operations in New Jersey, and the activity was only live for two weeks before the reporting period ended. The country also has a strong base in home country Italy, where it runs a lucrative lottery business.

Yeah, how huge 1% drop could be in this case really.
I guess their partnership with Fun Duel in US is a huge promise for the future though.
