This week MGM Resorts property Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa out of Atlantic City announced the launch of a mobile sportsbetting service, which will let gamblers in New Jersey wager on sports from their smartphone or tablet.

The app is officially called the playMGM NJ Sports app, and is available on the Google Play Store for Android devices, with iOS support coming soon. The app will let punters put down wagers on a variety of different sports, and comes just a few months after the Garden State legalized the activity.

Commenting on the launch an MGM spokesperson said, The playMGM NJ Sports app features a full range of US and selected international sports with customers able to sign-up, deposit and withdraw cash directly from their mobile devices from any location in New Jersey.

"The sports-betting app features a single wallet that enables existing and new customers to view their total account balance and easily apply available funds to their choice of sports-betting, casino or poker products."

The app is available now with players able to place bets immediately after signing in and depositing.

With so many people using their phones & tablets to connect with internet these days no doubt this is a necessary action for every sportsbook or casino to draw more players' attention and of course they should benefit from that big time I think.
