Betting group Tabcorp UK Ltd and News Group Newspapers had their gaming supply agreement come to an end today, and as a result Sun Bets will be closing their doors.
The announcement was made in an email to affiliate partners of Tabcorp, which specified what exactly was happening. Tabcorp stressed that they themselves remain solvent and are working with the UK Gambling Commission to handle the cessation of Sun Bets business while also returning their UK gaming license.
The closing process is expected to take up to 105 days to complete. Tabcorp's managers will be in place to help with dealing with the shutdown of the business.
The email in part read: "As of today, July 19 2018, Tabcorp UK Ltd will cease providing gambling services on behalf of News Group Newspapers (The Sun) and Sun Bets will be closing for customers.
"Tabcorp UK remains solvent and is currently engaged with the UK Gambling Commission to enable us to manage the closure of the business and the return of our licence in a compliant fashion.
"Tabcorp UK and its parent company, Tabcorp Holdings are deeply committed to an orderly running down of affairs and ensuring any contractual obligations we have with you will be met. In this regard, we will be in contact with individual suppliers soon to address these points in more detail. If your preferred contact details need updating, please do let us know as soon as possible."

Well, I'm surely not going to cry about the gossip media bookie site being closed, OK, there's might be a few punters being upset about that but not me, for sure.
Yeah... good riddance.
