Scientific Games to Supply Sportsbetting Platform in Delaware

This week the Delaware Lottery agreed to terms with Scientific Games to have the group provide the state's sportsbetting platform after the state legalized the activity last week.

The deal will see SG providing sportsbetting technology, content, and management systems, which will then be offered to punters through different channels. The state is set to begin offering sportsbetting services on June 5th, shortly after they legalized the activity. Delaware was the first state to legalize sportsbetting in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the sportsbetting ban that was in place. The First State was keen to be, well, the first state to legalize after the decision in an effort to pull in wagers from competing states.

Speaking about the matter Delaware Lottery Director Vernon Kirk said, "In anticipation of the Supreme Court's ruling on PASPA, we have been working with Scientific Games, our long-time sports betting provider, as well as training our lottery and casino staff, so that we were ready to launch full-scale, head-to-head betting on single games."

Scientific Games Senior VP of Global Lottery Systems Pat McHugh added: "Since Delaware is known as 'The First State', it's appropriate they were the first in the nation to expand regulated sports betting after the PASPA ruling.

"The combination of Scientific Games and NYX Gaming Group earlier this year created a global leader across iLottery, iGaming and sports betting that offers unrivalled capabilities to lotteries worldwide.

"As an integrated company, we are ready to serve our customers like the Delaware Lottery with the gaming entertainment industry's leading sports platforms, content and services."

I think the largest US states could only learn from Delaware of how quickly they arranged everything and are ready to make business now, yeah probably there's a bit more difficulties from any kind in NJ for example but still the Delaware local authorities have been quite impressive of how quickly they took actions and set all in place to start dealing.
