IGT's MegaJackpots Progressive Hit for £747,340

Last weekend a punter that was playing an IGT video slot hit the company's MegaJackpots Progressive for a large £747,340 cash prize.

We're awaiting word on the win from the casino that hosted the win, but we can confirm that the jackpot was hit and is the 39th win since we began tracking the prize in 2009. The average prize won for this game is £846,932, and the all-time record is £2,148,947, which was hit in 2013.

The IGT MegaJackpots prize is one of the most popular jackpots in the world. There is both an online and land casino version that grows with every spin of the reels and is awarded completely randomly. The land casino version of the game sits at over $11 million USD as of June 26th, but isn't hit nearly as often as the online version. The jackpot can be won on a large selection of different slots, including Battleship, Cluedo, Monopoly, and more.

I wonder why there's so much of a difference in between the biggest hits for this Jackpot in it's online and land based versions but maybe there's a logical explanation for that which I can't think off right now.
