Danish Gaming Revenues Surge in First Quarter

This story was published more than 6 years ago.

Denmark's gaming regulator Spillemyndigheden has released the country's gaming numbers for the first quarter of this year, which revealed that numbers were up from the same period last year.

Key financial indicators for the first quarter ending March 31st, 2018 were:

  • Gross gambling revenues of DKK1.52 billion, up 8.9% from the same period last year
  • Online revenues of DKK520.8 million, up 25.5% from last year
  • Sportsbetting revenues of DKK555.4 million, up 7% from last year
  • Online poker revenues of DKK27.9 million, down from DKK34.9 million last year

It should be noted that the regulator did change how online revenues are counted, as they are now counting online bingo in the sector. This added DKK15 million in revenue to the online vertical.

I hope that name makes a lot of sense in Danish, otherwise it's just necessary for them to change it 😉

Some companies re-branding just because they want something modern for a name and that's not the case here...try to say that quickly 5 times, no Danes allowed 😜
