Pinnacle Stops Plans to Obtain UK License

This story was published more than 5 years ago.

Internet sportsbetting group Pinnacle has announced that they've dropped their plans to obtain a UK gaming license, as they pulled their application in the jurisdiction.

The company had pulled out of the UK in 2014 and had opted to stay out of the market until a time that they could get a license. The company had apparently decided that the UK was lucrative enough again to re-enter, and they submitted an application recently. But things were not meant to last, as the company announced via Twitter this week that they were withdrawing that application.

No reason for the pullout was given, but Casino Listings will follow up on this story as we learn more.

Should be a big hit to the Pinnacle ambitions (and revenues) but I wonder what "now is not the right time means'?

Maybe they were told that they weren't going to be accepted. Or frightened by the recent action taken against Leo Vegas perhaps?

Always play it safe! Consult our list of rogue casinos and warnings before depositing at a new casino.

Don't know but certainly sounds logically to me Ed,

That could be a possibility too.

I pretty much like Pinnacle as a bookie in general, they're one of the few that not only allowed arbitrage betting but even challenge punters to do it and explains! how it could be done so a pretty good bookie but they have one huge minus too one free withdrawal a month or something similar so that's a big disadvantage to me most of the time.
