Lightning Box Games Gets Portugal Approval

This story was published more than 6 years ago.

Internet casino game developer Lightning Box Games has revealed that they've been granted approval to offer their games in Portugal by the country's regulator Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos (SIRJ).

The approval will let Lightning Box deploy all of their games on the Scientific Games Digital Platform, which will then be ported to casinos throughout Portugal. The country has a regulated gaming market, with operators made to follow guidelines to protect integrity and players. No timetable for the integration was available as of press time, but groups like these can generally get games ready in a matter of days, rather than weeks.

Commenting on the issue Lightning Box Managing Director Peter Causeley said, "We are thrilled to be given the opportunity to expand our footprint into Portugal, an online market that could present a number of new operator partnerships for us. We look forward to announcing those partnerships and the release of more games to the Portuguese market in due course."

Even though the Portugal market is not as large as their neighbours in Spain it's surely should be considered as quite solvent one so looks to be a nice deal for Lightning Box being able to operate there.
