This week land casino group Hard Rock International announced that they've been granted a gaming license by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission for their new Atlantic City resort.
The move was considered a slam dunk for Hard Rock, which is slated to open their new property on June 28th. The company has completely overhauled the old Trump Taj Mahal, putting in $500 million to update the interior and give it a modern design. The resort is right on the Boardwalk and will offer musical entertainment throughout the year.
Atlantic City's land casino market collapsed a few years back, with five resorts closing their doors in short order. Since that time, land revenues have stabilized, and companies are starting to make their way back to the second-largest gambling market in the country. This has been padded by online casino games, which has generated more than $100 million in the last year.
We'll be following the opening of this resort and we'll be updating readers as we learn more.
