Online betting firm Bet365 revealed this week that they're opening a new office in Malta in order to continue operations within Europe after Brexit takes effect.
The move with allow place Bet365 to continue operations in both the UK as well as Europe when Brexit takes effect in March of next year. There have been legal questions as to whether or not the company's current base in Gibraltar would be compatible with European operations, but now all bases appear to be covered. There had been rumors that the group was closing its Gibraltar office, but a spokesperson for Bet365 denied this, saying:
"Due to regulatory developments in various jurisdictions and the evolving global regulatory environment for online betting and gaming, we have decided to increase our existing presence in Malta, which provides a mature and robust regulatory environment for the industry."
"It should be noted however, that the number of people reported as being relocated to Malta are wholly inaccurate.
"Notwithstanding these plans for Malta, we can confirm that we will be retaining our strong presence in, and commitment to, Gibraltar where our main operational hub is based and will continue to maintain our existing dual regulatory and licensing strategy and presence."
No timetable for opening the new office was available as of press time.

I'm glad to hear that they've done that because bet365 is my main place to bet and play so of course I don't want to see them gone without any good enough alternative really.
