On the same day that they posted their record gaming revenues for 2017, 888 indicated that they're pulling out of the German market after the company took a hit from the region during the period.
The company took a hit from Germany's VAT bill, which added up to $45.3 million. The company calls the "regulatory uncertainty" a major stumbling block, with subsidiary companies being blocked from operations and payment processors are rejecting financial transactions related to 888's sites. This has led to the 888 board "assessing the status and breadth of its offerings in the German market," meaning that the group will likely be leaving the country.

Must of been a tough decision for the 888 head office as German market should be considered one of the leading ones in Europe but if the terms are not right then I guess there wasn't much choice for 888 but leave it.
