Bodog Signs On to Sponsor Copa do Brasil

This story was published more than 6 years ago.

Internet betting brand Bodog has announced that they've signed on to sponsor the Copa do Brasil knockout soccer tournament, the company's first foray into the Brazilian sponsorship market.

The agreement will see Bodog becoming a Master Sponsor of the tournament, which will begin next week. The company paid a seven-figure consideration for the deal, which will give Bodog signage and marketing rights.

Speaking about the deal Bodog's Ed Pownall said, "There's no doubt the Brazilian market is the 'next big thing' in our industry and we wanted to launch our brand into the region with a really big splash and quickly identified the Copa do Brasil as the perfect vehicle."

Of course Brazil is a large country i.e market so obviously Bodog are quite interested to spread their business there and that deal seems like a nice approach to do that I think.
