BetFred to Extend Rugby Sponsorships

This story was published more than 2 years ago.

UK betting group BetFred has announced that they've opted to extend their sponsorship of rugby in England, having become the title sponsor of the Championship and League 1 groups through 2019.

The sponsorship deal will see BetFred getting additional exposure with in-stadium signage and other marketing opportunities. The company already sponsors the top flight Super League and is extending its reach with this new extension. The group will also put it's name behind the Summer Bash tournament, which sees various rugby games played in the country.

Speaking about the agreement Rugby Football League CEO Ralph Rimmer said, "Betfred's first year involved in the Super League was an unquestionable success and I'm certain that they will bring the passion and enthusiasm to their extended sponsorship."

BetFred's Fred Done also commented, noting: "Our first year as title sponsors of Super League was both a very successful and satisfying one for me and I had no hesitation in agreeing to extend our sponsorship to the Championship and League 1."
