ASA Fines Broadway Gaming £100,00 for Misleading Ads

This story was published more than 6 years ago.

Internet betting group Broadway Gaming has been given a large £100,000 fine by the UK Advertising Standards Authority for putting misleading ads on five of its websites.

The original issue arose from Broadway's Butlers Bingo website, which had copy that read: 'Deposit £10. Play £35', as there was not any information on the various terms and conditions associated with the bonus. Looking into things, the UK Gambling Commission found similar offenses on the Bingo Diamond, Casino of Dreams, Dotty Bingo, and Rehab Bingo brands. Because of the repeated violations, the operator was hit with the hefty fine.

The decision comes as the UKGC tightens the regulations on operators, making them clarify terms and stipulating that affiliates comply as well.

We'll update this story if we get a comment from Broadway on their fine.

That fine looks to be quite deserved for Broadway Gaming, as it looks it's been really misleading to the players. As always UK gambling commission is very strict but that how it should be with those not following the rules or even trying to take advantage of the punters.
