Bet365 Financials Break £2 Billion in Revenue

This story was published more than 6 years ago.

Internet betting group Bet365 has posted their full year 2017 financials, noting that revenues broke £2.15 billion and that profits were higher as well.

Key financial indicators for the full year ending March 26th, 2017 were:

  • Full year revenues of £2.15 billion, up 39% from the year prior
  • Operating profit was up 15% to £503 million
  • Pre-tax profits were up to £514 million
  • Active players up 35%

The company claimed their fortunes were higher due to the Euro 2016 tournament, while live content and new features to the site also boosted revenues.

Bet365 has also undertaken a set of new responsible gaming measures, with CEO Denise Coates noting: "The group is committed to developing an evidence-based approach to responsible gambling; to this end, the group continues to work with research partners on a number of projects to improve its methods of identifying harmful play and deliver more effective harm-minimisation interventions."

"The group has also invested in the development of its own predictive algorithms in order to improve the accuracy and reach of existing measures. The scope and reach of Bet365's predictive system has been expanded with the addition of new markers of potential harm."

"In addition, a refined set of harm-minimisation interventions has been developed."

Wow, the numbers are amazing. I thought that the main source of income is casinos, but, it seems that these kind of big and old ones earn money from Sports bettiing more than casinos...

Surprising.

No doubt Bet365 is the world leading bookie and amongst the best casinos out there, saying that I think they tightened the playing conditions (for the sportsbook) in the last couple of years which assure them even higher profits...that doesn't mean they are not still the top bookie though which just shows how big of a margin there is between them and the rest in that classification...
