This week the casino management group that oversees Betfred and several other betting sites issued a strict set of guidelines for their affiliate partners in the wake of sanctions from the UK ASA to major operators for the actions of their affiliates.
Management group ActiveWins sent an email to current affiliate partners, including Casino Listings. The email included restrictions on creative advertising, and sites promoting ActiveWins sites need to have responsible gaming messages in their bios.
Some of the guidance given in the email includes:
"Any affiliate found to be running noncompliant advertising or has not had signoff on adverts and traffic sources from the 20/09/2017 will have their account suspended until we can verify the requested information."
"Advertisement on Facebook, Twitter and all other social media platforms, all ads must state 18+, and include a responsible gaming message within the bio. Tipsters must clearly state that their tips do not guarantee success and are a challenge only, and ActiveWins must have provided all promotional material."
Groups that don't comply with the regulations stipulated in emails can have their accounts suspended.
Last week the UK ASA sanctioned 888 for allowing an affiliate to run a socially irresponsible ad. Since that time, many major betting groups have moved to issue guidelines for their affiliates.
