The government of Slovakia has announced that it has added six new online gaming domains to their national blacklist, with directions for the operators to remove their sites within 10 days or be blocked by ISPs.
The list is the second addition to the initial list, which was put out last month. Offending sites were not made public, but have been notified by the country's Financial Administration. If the sites do not pull their sites, ISPs in the country will end up being tasked with blocking access to the casinos. Providers who don't comply will face a hefty €500,000 fine.
The service providers in Slovakia have said that they'll comply with the law, but have yet to receive judicial orders requiring the blockade. Many of the ISPs have expressed frustration with the law, noting increased cost to enforce the laws. For their part, Slovakia is looking to regulate online betting. The country wants licensed sites to pay a 27% tax on their gross gaming revenues.
We'll update this story as we learn more about the blocked sites.
