Macau Shuts Down Due to Tropical Storm

This week Tropical Storm Hato hit the Chinese Mainland, causing Macau to shut down due to power outages and flooding.

The storm hit Macau, although not nearly as hard as it could have. Hato instead glanced Macau, but the rainfall and winds did some damage to the world's largest gambling market. The Wynn Macau had their water and electricity systems shut down, while the Ponte 16 resort got flooded. Other casinos such as the Galaxy Macau, City of Dreams, and Studio City all had damage from trees and wind damage.

Hotels also have been turning away visitors, as their facilities are down. No timetable for a restoration of services was available as of press time, but weather analysts did downgrade the storm to a Category 3.

We'll update this story as we learn more about the imact from the storm.

Yeah sound terrible, maybe good number of tourist had been disappointed because of the shuting down but in the end safety should be at first place, and obviously you can't bet sitting in a..canu.

It has been long time since my last visit to Macau. And I just saw the news and video clips about the disaster in Macau and Hong Kong. The storm was strong.
