This week the Swedish Football Association announced that it had to postpone a game betweek AIK and Goteborg after a match-fixing attempt was caught by officials.
The top-tier match was set to be played on Thursday, but has been postponed by the Swedish Football Association to a later date. News reports claim that a player from AIK was offered money if he helped contribute to his team losing the match. Goteborg's goalkeeper was reportedly also approached about fixing the match. It does appear that both players turned down the advances.
Hakan Sjostrand, the General Secretary of SvFF said that the attempts were very serious in nature, and that the organization will "never, never accept it". No date for a rematch has been set.

It's an interesting story but it makes no sense to me, how come a player from AIK could help his team losses and in the same time the opponent keeper been approached to do the same^)
Keeper could only influence the game by letting an easy goal(s) but he's the Göteborg keeper and they supposed to win that one, unless first the AIK player been approached and after his rejection the opposite keeper have been "in touch"...I guess.. the other possibility which I thought of is the try match to be fixed at over certain amount of goals but it doesn't looking to be this according the news...
But the SvFF reacted quickly which is great...nice to see there are a players with great moral out there...some other could be easily tempted by that "offer'...I guess.
Well I am a complete outsider when it comes to sports bets but I think that events like this one happens a lot.
Yeah it is strange that seemingly both teams were approached about losing the match. Perhaps the crooks were looking to affect the "both teams to score" market. Or maybe have a player deliberately give away a penalty, or a throw in, or any of those other exotic bets that don't really affect the match result.

Yeah we could only make guesses Ed, the other option is - after the first player refused to "cooperate" they get in touch with the opponents keeper, it's not too likely but it's possible I think, in the end there's no matter who is going to win if you have an inside man...just a guess 😉
Throw ins...really.. 😜 But you could be right Ed, I guess these guys hoping that these "exotic" as you called them bets won't bring as much an intention than the most popular ones..probably.
