Kindred Expects UK Regulator to Rule on 32Red Purchase Soon

This story was published more than 6 years ago.

This week the Kindred Group updated the public on its ongoing purchase process for gaming company 32Red, saying it expects the UK Gambling Commission to complete its analysis of the purchase "in the near future".

The two groups had previously reached a deal for an unconditional purchase for a price of £175.6 million, and the deal was accepted by 32Red's shareholders as well as the regulating body of Gibraltar, where 32Red is based. Kindred, formally Unibet, has stated that they think a decision is coming soon, and they expect the UK regulator to rule in favor of the deal.

Speaking about the matter a Kindred representative said, "The UKGC's review is progressing and Kindred currently anticipates that the UKGC will make a determination in the near future. Kindred anticipates that the offer will be declared wholly unconditional upon the UKGC making a positive determination."

We will be updating this story as the purchase gets closer to completion.
