Bwin Signs Sponsorship Deal With Borussia Dortmund

Internet gaming group bwin has announced that it is signed a sponsorship deal with German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, and will be a key partner for the next four years as a result.

The sponsorship deal is good for four seasons and will see bwin serving as the champion partner of the club. bwin will receive exclusive marketing rights as well, including marketing signage at the club's stadium as well as the opportunity to create specific promotions on the bwin website.

Speaking about the deal, bwin's Stephan Heilmann said, "We want to involve the Dortmund fans in our sponsoring as much as we can and we have a range of exciting ideas that we will soon implement both inside and outside the stadium."

Dortmund Director of Sales Carsten Cramer also commented, noting: "In bwin, we have a partner by our side that has a longer association with German football than any other company in the betting industry. bwin has already entered into several partnerships with major players on the European football scene over the course of recent years."

Borussia Dortmund has been around for 107 years and plays in the highest league in Germany. The club plays in front of 81,359 people at their home stadium of Westfalenstadion, which opened 33 years ago.

Both the club and the bookie are very popular names around the world and of course Europe so I think it would be great partnership for both sides and especially Bwin who's been on the down side for the past few years but looking to rejuvenate themselves under the new owner I think.
