Canadian internet gaming group Amaya has announced that they're planning to change their name to The Stars Group Inc., and relocate from Montreal, Quebec over to Toronto, Ontario.
The reasoning for the proposed name change hasn't been revealed officially, but it's thought that the company is aiming to distance itself from former majority shareholder and CEO David Baazov, who was a controversial figure in the company and is under investigation for potential insider trading. The group has said that they are seeking to move headquarters to "more effectively manage its business and affairs".
Before either change can be implemented they will need to be approved by shareholders, which is expected to take place at the company's general meeting this summer.
We will update this story as we learn more.

Well they obviously have good reasoning why they want to change their name and location. I think that it can be a good way to have a fresh start.
Like Ed said it once of a similar news - it's too much of a cash drain to just re- brand the company, but maybe there's a logic for Amaya ding that.
First of all they don't have any troubles to afford that and secondly The Stars Group sounds like a name which could be logically linked to Poker stars while Amaya is much more away from that I think, but they also said they want a fresh start after all that Baazov story so it might be a good decision in this case.
