Isle of Man based casino game developer Microgaming has announced that they've signed a licensing deal with The Really Useful Group to develop an internet slot based on The Phantom of the Opera.
The slot will be deployed later this year, and will be based on the 2004 film, which is based on the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical of the same name. The game will feature footage, images, and music from the film, and will integrate a series of slot features to make the game enjoyable for punters. The Phantom of the Opera that the game is based on came from the 2004 musical film, which in turn is based on the hit play that was created by Andrew Lloyd Webber in 1986 and has seen sustained success throughout the world, generating more than $6 billion in receipts.
Speaking about the upcoming release Microgaming's David Reynolds said, "The Phantom of the Opera has had unequivocal success, played to over 140 million people worldwide! It's exciting to be working with a musical, a new genre of branded content for Microgaming, extending and broadening our portfolio of games. Due out in Q3, this game will be a true celebration of the world's biggest opera, balancing a healthy mix of base game features with a feature-packed free spins round."

I like the idea, The Phantom of the Opera was a billion dollar musical and I've had never saw the movie but there's a slot games devoted to a lot more stupid things and themes so why not that more so froma leading game developer like Microgaming.
I have seen the movie so I think it could be quite interesting. I only hope that the graphics and overall design won't be too old fashioned becaue then I won't like it.
