Pennsylvania On Track to Pass Online Gaming in Next Two Months

This story was published more than 6 years ago.

This week a Pennsylvania state senator revealed that he believes online gaming legislation will be approved by both the House and Senate within the next three months.

Senator Mario Scavello said that he believes that online betting and other gaming expansions will likely be passed by March, as he believes the measures have bi-partisan support in both houses. He said that he and other politicians will be meeting this week to discuss the details of that bill, and what it'll include.

"Sometime in March, we'll have something done and passed in the House and Senate," Scavello said. It looks like online gaming has the support to pass," he said. "We can look at other expansions."

Pennsylvania is the second most profitable state when it comes to gambling, as it rakes in land casino revenues at record rates. The Keystone State has seen competition from neighboring states heating up over the past several years though, and New Jersey has a lucrative online gaming industry, leading many to believe that Pennsylvania online betting could be very profitable for all involved.

Casino Listings will keep up on the legalization efforts, and will update this story as we learn more.

Obviously upcoming important times for the future of online gambling in the States, with Pennsylvania and Michigan states ready to take actions of legalizing and regulating the business but with Sheldon Andersn from the other side pushing his Washington buddies to take measures against, so an important times I think.
