Kindred Group Earns EU Recommendation on Consumer Protection

This week the Kindred Group, which was formerly named Unibet, was lauded for becoming the first gaming operator to meet the requirements for the EU Recommendation on Consumer Protection and Responsible Gambling.

The recommendation comes after an extensive outside audit of the group's policies, which was undertaken by certification group eCOGRA. The audit looked at the transparency of information and communications, commercial communication, identity verification processes, underage gambling prevention measures, responsible gaming measures, and employee training to identify problem betting behaviors.

The certification is the first of its kind in Europe, and comes after approval that stemmed from the 2012 EU Action Plan on Online Gambling. It is expected that more major online betting groups will earn this certification as the audits are conducted.

Commenting on the matter Kindred Group CEO Henrik Tjärnström said, "Kindred Group continues to raise the bar for responsible gambling and customer trust. The successful completion of this independent audit once again demonstrates that we have the right practices, technology and people in place to provide a safe and secure experience for our customers".
