This story was published more than 7 years ago.

Polish politicians have passed the Gambling Act after they approved various amendments, and the bill will now await a presidential signature before it is transformed into law.

The Gambling Act has an effective date of April 1st, 2017 and will feature a 12% tax rate on gambling operator turnover, ISP and financial transaction blocking for illegal sites, and that a slate of online betting options will have to go through the monopoly Totalizator Sportowy. There are also several changes and updates coming to the country's land casino industry.

Casino Listings will update this story as the Polish president signs this bill into law.

Obviously Polish authorities have done most of the hard work of regulating the market there and it's certainly a nice thing for the local punters I think.
