Last week politicians in Bermuda announced that they have approved the Casino Gaming Amendment Act of 2016, which gives limited remote gambling rights to those in the country.
The law will mainly apply to land casinos, and will see new casino licensing rules, problem gambling fighting measures, and rules to fight corruption in the country's casinos. Additionally though, the law will allow for visitors to casinos to gamble online through their desktop or mobile devices. Sportsbetting services are also being permitted, as are fantasy sports.
The country decided not to regulate full online betting though, forcing punters to play at offshore betting sites. Online betting operators are forbidden from operating in the country, but punters are not restricted to playing on other sites.
Bermuda is located in the Atlantic Ocean, and draws a large number of visitors every year, as the island nation has cruise ports, pink sand beaches, and warm temperatures.
