This week the Big One for the One Drop charity poker tournament is set to kick off at the legendary Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco, with the winner taking home millions of dollars.
This is the third year for the large scale tournament, which had previously taken place in 2012 and 2014 in Las Vegas. Previous winners of the tournament were Antonio Esfandiari and Dan Colman, who took home $18 million and $10 million respectively. The tournament also sees a percentage of the money generated by the buy-ins donated to the One Drop charity, which goes toward supporting clean water projects in poor areas of the world.
This is the first iteration of the tournament to exclude professional poker players, which is thought to bring in wealthy players who want to test their luck.
Casino Listings will update this story as we learn more about the tournament as it plays out.
