iOS 10 to Support Bitcoin Payments, Will They be Used for Online Gaming?

Apple's iOS 10 operating system for iPhone and iPad is set to release next week, and it has been revealed that the tech giant is planning to open its iMessage app to developers, which will allow for Bitcoin transactions to be conducted via the mobile devices, which in turn could be used to deposit and withdraw funds at online gaming sites.

The announcement was revealed this week that the iMessage SDK will be open to third party developers for the first time, which will allow for companies to integrate Bitcoin payments through the app, similar to how Facebook allows users to send money to other users. One of the first apps to be developed using this open SDK is Circle, which lets users send P2P transactions.

If Bitcoin payments are opened on iOS devices, it would be a sure moneymaker for online gaming sites, which can tout mobile payments using the cryptocurrency, rather than taking the time to input all of your credit card information.

This technology looks to be in its infancy right now, and will require more development before it is likely widely adopted, but Casino Listings will stay on top of this story and will update readers as we learn more.

Certainly implementing Bitcoin on mobile devices looks to be the future, it would make depositing and withdrawing even more simpler than now without risking your personal information being stolen.

I wouldn't say that online gaming sites would be that thrilled to use Bitcoin. Although I love Bitcoin and am an avid advocate and supporter of it, the majority of people are fearful because of the volatility of it.

Plus, ignorance causes fear. FUD is really what prevents Bitcoin from spreading. Plus the fact that most media coverages are about criminal activities... which doesn't help.

However, this news does help bring more attention to the currency!

Agreed with you mate, still I think Bitcoin become more and more popular and I don't expect that tendency to go down in the next years. Many people already using it so it could be a slow progress but there's a development I think.
