Gaming industry giant International Game Technology has announced that it has signed a four-year contract extension with Svenska Spel, which operates as a gambling group in Sweden.

The extension is part of an original four-year deal that was signed in 2013 and will see IGT continuing to offer its poker products through desktop and mobile devices, and will continue to develop new poker games and tournaments, along with updated graphic sets. Svenska Spel currently operates the fifth-most popular online poker site in the world in terms of traffic.

Commenting on the extension IGT Chief Operating Officer Declan Harkin said, "By leveraging industry best practices and our experience as a successful B2C operator in the Italian interactive market, IGT's enhanced multichannel suite of interactive poker products will help Svenska Spel to reach a broader player base."

Svenska Spel CEO Lennart Käll also commented on the new agreement, noting: "For a decade now, Svenska Spel has successfully worked with IGT to offer the Swedish public a fun and safe interactive poker product. Choosing partners with innovative, marketing-leading products is essential to responsibly meeting our customers' needs."

Obviously both parties had been beneficial from this deal and of course the most impressive fact here for me is that that Svenska Spel runs the fifth most popular site in the poker industry - that's really huge I think.
