Nepal Police Break Up Gambling Den

Police in Nepal announced that they have raided a gambling den in the town of Jagati, Bhaktarpur, arresting 16 gamblers as a result.

Police reacted to a tip, and deployed a team to conduct the raid. In addition to the arrests, various pieces of betting paraphernalia, two sets of cowries, and various amounts of cash. The suspects in the case are being held under the Gambling Act of 1963, which restricts gambling, and can be read here.

No details on the type of gambling taking place at the den was revealed, but Casino Listings will update this story as more developments arise.

This is something quite usual in some parts of Asia I think, there are many illegal gambling organisations there and it's not easy for police to react. Illegal gambling will always exist in one form or another.
