Showboat Atlantic City Reopens Soon... But Not as a Casino

The Showboat Atlantic City will be reopening its doors in the next few weeks, but will not feature a casino as the staple of its operations, but will maintain itself as a hotel resort instead.

The Showboat had initially closed its doors due to poor performance, but was eventually acquired by Tower Investments, who then undertook the task of renovating it to higher standards. Initially run by Caesars, the casino was closed in August 2014, but was sold to Stockton University who aimed to make the property into a college campus. Those plans fell through though, and the university sold to Tower Investments in 2015 for $23 million.

No look inside the new Showboat has been revealed, but Casino Listings will update this story as we get a peek inside.

Well at least they found a new purpose to the building, I guess it's better than just become a ruin after some years but it's an interesting story.
