This week the International Olympic Committee announced the decision to use Genius Sports out of London to monitor the upcoming games to help catch cheating behavior.
Genius Sports will use its Sports Integrity service to see where betting data from markets around the globe are coming in, which in turn could point out whether a certain event is fixed. It is thought that betting on the Olympics will total $1 billion globally, with Nevada based sportsbooks taking wagers on the games for the first time in 15 years.
The deal will also cover all other sanctioned events that were covered in the IOC's deal with Integrity Betting Intelligence System.
For its part, Genius Sports has grown to become a trusted global brand when it comes to sportsbetting. The London-based company provides sportsbetting solutions as well as data analysis and integrity products around the world. Other major sports bodies using Genius Sports products include the Barclays Premier League and Major League Baseball.

Certainly the Rio Olympics would be not only the main sporting event for the year but also biggest event for the bookies as well. Apparently Genius Sports role will be mighty important in all that and hopefully they would do their job in the best possible way.
