Macau Numbers Down Again in June

The gaming destination of Macau has published their gaming revenue numbers for June 2016, noting that revenues were down once again, falling 8.5% to 15.9 billion patacas.

The drop in revenues is the latest for Macau, which has seen its gaming revenues drop for the last 25 months consecutively. The drop in revenues is in line with what industry analysts predicted, and has been attributed to a crackdown on extravagance by the Chinese government, which has in turn kept lucrative VIP players away from the island gaming destination.

Even though Macau's revenues are struggling, the spot is by far still the largest gambling market in the world, bringing in several times what Las Vegas does every month.

I thought the drop in numbers now becoming really worrying for the casinos in Macau but then I've read the last sentence which says it all really, maybe not so worrying numbers after all Smile
