This week Cricket Australia announced that they have opted to suspend two players for betting on games as part of their anti-corruption approach.
Players Corinne Hall and Hayley Jensen were both handed two year bans from the group, after they were found to have bet on matches. Jensen bet on a match between Australia and New Zealand, while Hall bet on two games in a men's competition. The bank will mean that the players cannot participate in matches for a period of six months.
Joel Logan of the South Australia team was also given a suspended sentence for betting on matches.
Commenting on the bans Cricket Australia integrity head Iain Roy said, "We take a proactive, zero-tolerance approach to maintaining the integrity of our sport and this includes any form of betting on cricket globally. These players have accepted the seriousness of their errors and have voluntarily accepted their sanctions."
