Internet betting software developer Playtech has announced that they have come to terms to purchase casual game developer FunTactix for an undisclosed amount.
FunTactix does not traditionally develop casino games, but Playtech has expressed a desire to grow its presence in the casual gaming market, which it entered in 2014 when it founded the Plamee game studio.
Moving forward, FunTactix will continue to develop games for mobile devices, where it has specialized in creating games based on licensed properties.
Commenting on the deal Playtech COO Shimon Akad said, "The Playtech casual games division has a clear strategy and direction and we're very confident it will continue to go from strength-to-strength. The acquisition of Funtactix, in addition to Plamee and YoYo Games, enables us to offer a complete suite of content and software to players, designers and third parties including some of the largest studios and brands in the world."

I think it's another proof of how well Playtech doing and they probably have some spare funds to invest in a bit different busines than their usual, but I think this shows that the company has been managed wisely.
Playtech is surprising me lately, buying Quickspin, now Funtactix. Well I am very interested to see how this will turn out but at least they are doing something to make them more interesting.
