NBA Will Not Allow Gaming Firms on Jerseys

This story was published more than 7 years ago.

This week the National Basketball Association revealed that it will not permit gaming firms to purchase rights to put their logos on the team's jerseys, along with other industries that run afoul of the jersey's manufacturer and various industries.

Gaming firms, tobacco, alcohol, media companies, political groups, and apparel competitors of Nike will not be permitted to purchase the logo placements. The league announced the decision to allow for jersey sponsorship placements this year, with the logos going live beginning in the 2017-2018 basketball season. Logos will be on the front of jerseys, like many professional sports teams throughout the world already offer.

There are 30 teams in the NBA, and each team will be responsible for setting up their own logo deals.

.Well it sounds fair enough for me. Maybe if NBA as a league has less sponsors in generally they would probably accept logos from gambling companies on the team's jerseys but now they have the right and financial freedom to refuse that.
