Macau May Ban Telephone Betting

This story was published more than 7 years ago.

Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau is reportedly gearing up to implement a ban on telephone betting, which could already harm the already sagging VIP betting market.

The move has reportedly been communicated to the casinos on the former Portuguese colony, and would force punters to be present to place wagers. Telephone wagering roughly makes up 5-10% of VIP revenues, meaning that casinos could reportedly lose millions of dollars per year in revenue.

Casino Listings will update this story as more developments arise.

I don't understand what's the reason for that possible decision but obviously it would have a negative effect over the VIP punters stakes, still I think they will find a way to place their bets.
