Delaware Online Gaming Revenues Continue to Grow

This story was published more than 5 years ago.

The state of Delaware has released their April 2016 online gaming numbers, noting that revenues reached an all-time high, bringing in $267,801.

Gaming numbers for the month ending April 30th, 2016 were:

  • Total online revenue in April was the highest yet recorded at $267,801;

  • Online casino gaming soared 32% at $90,313 in April;

  • However online poker declined 6.9% at $34,751 quarter-on-quarter;

  • Video lotteries contributed $142,735 to the monthly total. In percentage terms, that made video lotteries the most popular form of online betting in April at 53 percent.

Delaware's online gaming industry has struggled to get off the ground, as the state has a small population and borders, and is thus restricted to who it can offer its services to.

I think it's not surprising that revenues in Delaware continue to grow in the recent months, in a state where the online gambling is a relatively new market there's always room for increase and improvement. Although it's not a hugely populated state I guess there are some "tourists" from their neighbor states who are interested to visit the state of Delaware.
