44 Arrested in Malaysian Gambling Raid

A series of raids in Malaysia has seen more than 44 people arrested for illegal online gambling, the latest raids in Operation Dadu, which sees the country clamping down on rampant gambling running throughout the country.

The raids took place in the Kulim and Sungai Petani districts of Malaysia, and saw more than 100 computers and various other pieces of equipment tied to the gambling operations. Originally there were 144 people arrested, but 100 were let go at the scene.

Malaysia has undertaken a concerted effort to clamp down on illegal gambling, and there have been hundreds of raids already this year, with more surely to come.

Asia and Malaysia in particular is the place where elegal gambling have really deep routs and it's emensly tough for the authorities to fight with all these organizations. Hopefully police has the better of them lately with all these recent raids but honestly I doubt they ever will cut off the problem completely.

Malaysia has been very popular in illegal gambling scene, i have read numerous reports like this one. I also think that they will still find a way to operate even with the raids.
