Unibet Extends Sponsorship of Caribbean Premier League Cricket

Internet betting firm Unibet has announced that it has signed an extension of its sponsorship deal of the Caribbean Premier League of cricket for the next two years.

The sponsorship deal will also see Unibet continuing to act as a team sponsor of the Zouks club, and will see the company offering exclusive betting options and receiving signage and other marketing opportunities.

The Caribbean Premier League is a cricket tournament that takes place in the Caribbean, and features clubs from several nations. The event is being held in Guyana this year.

Commenting on the deal Unibet UK marketing manager Chris Watson said, "As 'The Biggest Party in Sport', the CPL perfectly matches our brand values. As official betting partner we look forward to providing CPL fans with a variety of bet types while allowing people to bet live in-play, with ball-by-ball betting."

I'm curious about the sum of the deal. How many people bet on cricket? Anyway, they know for sure better than me if this sponsorship will bring them more customers.

Who Bet on Cricket???
No need to mention It's a N1 sport in India which have a population of over a billion peoples and it's very popular in other Asian countries as well.
All the other ex British colonies and then Australian, South African and the British market himself.
In fact I've placed a bets on Cricket many times myself, for me Cricket is much more entertaining and reasonable game than baseball for example.

Cricket is probably one of the top sports in the world for numbers of bettors, especially in India. You can bet on the results like every other sport, but the slow pace of the game lends itself to endless betting opportunities. You can bet on the result of every individual ball bowled (like betting on a point in tennis), top scorers, wicket takers and loads of other things. Even stupid stuff like the number of players in the fielding side who wear a cap for example. These latter style bets are very susceptible to corruption and there is a lot of criminal activity in India trying to fix those sorts of spot bets. Several international players have been busted for being involved over the past few decades. So yes, it is an absolutely massive betting market.

I'm very pleased to hear you say that! I've had American friends say to me "How can you watch cricket? It is so boring." And then in the next breath they talk about how much they love baseball, which to me is about as entertaining as watching paint dry. I get that 5 day long test matches are not interesting if you have not grown up with the sport, but the shorter games and the recent invention of 20-20 matches have made it much more exciting if you can't handle the slow pace of the traditional game.

Fully agreed Ed, Cricket offers almost endless betting opportunities.
I guess the Americans loves baseball because they grown up with it but like some hockey players said you can play baseball while you sleeping. In the modern 20-20 game of Cricket has a lot more action and variety of batting than in Baseball which is one of the few sports I've had never get used to watch.
