This week it was revealed that Malaysian law enforcement carried out a series of 27 raids on illegal online betting rings last weekend, arresting dozens of people and taking a lot of evidence into custody.
The raids took place in the Kuching region, and saw the 27 raids taken place in 17 districts. 24 of the raids were for illegal lotteries, while online gambling and cock fighting rings were also broken up. In the raids 58 people were arrested and 32 pieces of equipment were also seized.
Commenting on the raids CID Chief SAC Dev Kumar said, "The operations against gambling in the state will be ongoing. No district will be spared in our efforts to rid the state of gambling activities."
