UK land and online bingo firm Gala Bingo has announced that it has signed on to the industry watchdog firm the Senet Group, which works to promote and enforce responsible gaming practices.
The operator is the latest to join the group, which was formed in 2014 by Paddy Power, Coral, Ladbrokes, and William Hill. The group sees all operator members working together to form and improve upon responsible gaming measures for online punters.
Commenting on the membership Gala Leisure CEO Simon Wykes said, "Bingo is recognized as being a community-based activity at the softest edge of gaming. As such, we place great importance on responsible gambling and can see the merits in working together as an industry rather than just as a sector within it."
Senet Group Chair Wanda Goldwag also commented, adding: "Today marks an important milestone as more sectors from across the gambling industry recognise the importance of promoting responsible gambling standards. We are delighted to welcome the first bingo brand to the Senet Group, and look forward to working with Gala Bingo as more businesses from across the industry make the commitment to submit to the independent oversight we provide."
