This week it was revealed that the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling lobbying group has hired The Keelen Group to help lobby politicians in its continued efforts to ban online gambling within the United States.
The Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling was formed by Las Vegas Sands owner Sheldon Adelson, and has the goal of lobbying politicians in an effort to get the activity banned in the United States. Last year the group paid out more than $290,000 to try to get the Restoration of America's Wire Act passed into law, although those efforts were ultimately unsuccessful.
Conversely, it was reported that Amaya has hired lobbying group CSA Strategies to help pass through a bill that would license online gambling.

This is a communist demand in my opinion. Why the coalition was formed in Las Vegas? To increase the profits at landbased casinos.
I understand that you can ban some casinos or you can force them to pay some taxes if they want to be eligible in your country, but making it completely illegal is a big abuse.
This seems ridiculous. If ban gambling, ban all kinds, including land based casinos, otherwise it seems like they only want their land based casinos to earn money and ban online casinos. I don't think it's even a possible thing to do, people will always find a way how to gamble online.
Yeah, this group was formed with the goal of strengthening the land casino industry, as Sheldon Adelson seems to believe that online gaming will steal his company's profits (studies say it won't though).
So what if it does reduce his profits? This greedy dinosaur has no endless right to exclusively make money from gamblers. This is like video rental shop owners organising a coalition against online movie streaming because they won't make as much money as before. Too bad. Move with the times. Adapt or die.

The difference is that Mr Adelson's casinos aren't going to disappear due to online casinos. People still love going to a land casino for the sights, sounds, entertainment and different choice of games. He just appears to be an utterly greedy, hypocritical, and selfish old man who uses lobbying and lies to protect his own interests.
