Internet betting giant Bet365 has announced that they hold more than a third of Italy's online sportsbetting market, dwarfing its nearest competitor by more than 25%.
For the three months ending March 31st, 2016 revealed that Italy's sportsbetting wagers were €970 million. Of that number €346.2 million was wagered on Bet365, while Gala Coral's Eurobet site was second at €101.3 million (10.4%), and William Hill saw €75.9 million, which was good for 7.8%.
The study revealed that Bet365 has the highest payout percentage at 94.8%, while Unibet has 93.5%, and William Hill pays out 93%.
Conversely, land based sportsbetting for the same period was €788 million, and SNAI-Cogetech had €189.2 million of the market, while Lottomatica was second at €133.4 million and third was Eurobet at €126.4 million.
