Net Ent Comes Out on Top in Swedish Tax Case

This story was published more than 8 years ago.

Internet betting firm Net Ent has announced that it has prevailed in a court case that saw it challenging a tax burden from the Swedish Tax Agency and was awarded SEK 1.8 million as a result.

The tax body claimed that Net Ent owed SEK 94.4 million in additional taxes on earnings that took place from between 2007 and 2010. The developer said that it was correct in the amount it paid in taxes, and that it had complied with all laws. The court sided with Net Ent, awarding them the large judgement.

Net Ent said that the damages awarded to it will not impact the earnings or the company's financial position.

The announcement comes during a big week for Net Ent, which saw it come to an agreement to offer its games on the PokerStars New Jersey product and join the World Lottery Association as an associate member.

It's really a great year so far for NetEnt, the company continues to progress and develop with the new deals they closed recently but even win a case in the court against the Swedish Tax Agency which I guess is not an easy thing to do I guess 😉 but I'm sure this amount is not vital for NetEnt anyway.
