This story was published more than 8 years ago.

Internet betting software Play'n GO has announced that they will release their newest video slot "Cloud Quest" in March, which looks closely based on the video game series Final Fantasy.

Cloud Quest is a 5 reel, 5 row video slot that features a theme based on the RPG game series and allows players to select one of three heroes to fight and progress their character. The game contains five stages that allow you to eventually collect up to 100x the wagered amount, free spins, wild symbols, and scatters.

The game will be available to play March 10th, on both desktop and mobile platforms at casinos offering Play'n GO's gaming library.

Uh yeah, direct ripoff of Final Fantasy.

Cloud from Final Fantasy 7 and the Wizard are definitely directly taken from the series. I can't place the third one though.

I just wonder why they have to use a Final Fantasy characters, couldn't they create their own ones? In the end it could be a decent slot but would the players be fancy in characters they all ready have seen?

No way. I agree the "dude with massive oversized sword" looks straight out of Final Fantasy. But that little wizard is definitely "inspired" by Orko from the cartoon series He-Man, which was around years before Final Fantasy. I used to watch it on TV as a kid and it's the first thing I thought of when I saw this game.

Aside from the hat, eyes, robes and scarf around the face, look at the picture of the toy character - it has the same staff and book.
