Ladbrokes to Sponsor Snooker Tournaments

UK betting group Ladbrokes has announced that they have signed a sponsorship deal that will see it serving as the title sponsor of the 2016 World Grand Prix and Players Championship snooker tournaments.

As a result of the deal Ladbrokes will be the title sponsor of the event, which will be known as the Ladbrokes Players Championship as well as the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix. The tournaments will take place from March 8th-13th and March 22nd through the 27th in Llandudno, Wales, and Manchester, respectively.

Commenting on the deal Ladbrokes Chief Marketing Officer Kristof Fahy said, "We're bolstering our sponsorship portfolio all the time and the addition of two popular snooker tournaments will serve us well."

"We are building our brand in a sport which has proven in-play betting appeal; sponsorship at Ladbrokes is much more than sticking ribbons on a trophy and we're looking forward to working with World Snooker to raise the profile of these events even further."

World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn also commented on the deal, noting: "We're delighted to bring in Ladbrokes as title sponsor for both of these world ranking events; they are a fantastic team and we look forward to working with them."

Snooker is one of my favourite sports and I'm glad to hear that another leading bookmaker decided to be part of the game as a sponsor, it's quite often in the past couple of years some of the top bookies to sponsor biggest events in snooker. It's great for the sport really and I think guarantees that Ronnie O'Sullivan will participate on these tournaments, because more likely there will be some additional cash bonuses which he really loves Cool
